Kyle Mann
Kyle Mann earned his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law. While at SMU, he served as an Articles Editor on the SMU Science and Technology Law Review, where he helped shape scholarship at the intersection of law and technology. This role strengthened his research and writing skills and gave him experience evaluating complex legal arguments.
Kyle further sharpened his legal skills as a judicial clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas under the Honorable Judge Renée Harris Toliver. In this role, Kyle researched complex legal issues and drafted opinions and recommendations to support the efficient management of Judge Toliver’s docket. This behind-the-bench experience gave Kyle a rare perspective on judicial decision-making, which he now applies when advising and advocating for clients.
Kyle was also a member of the Board of Advocates and competed on the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team. In this highly competitive global forum, Kyle gained first-hand experience in international commercial arbitration and honed his advocacy skills while competing against top law schools from around the world. His commitment to excellence in oral and written advocacy earned him induction into the prestigious National Order of Barristers, an honor reserved for students who demonstrate outstanding ability in appellate advocacy.
During law school, Kyle also completed an externship with Caterpillar, Inc., where he worked closely with in-house counsel. This role provided him with invaluable insight into the client perspective on legal issues such as contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property, and corporate compliance. By experiencing the business side of the attorney-client relationship, Kyle developed a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal problem solving.
